Minsteracres has the feel of a self-contained world. Originally an 18th-century country house, the site evolved into the retreat centre it’s known as today, with the chapel and later buildings forming a graceful courtyard behind the main house. The long avenue of giant redwoods, planted in the 1800s, gives the place an almost continental feel, standing guard around the grounds and framing the estate against the rolling fields beyond. From the air, the layout becomes clear — a blend of formal design, historic architecture, and working land that shows how the estate has grown through different eras.

Capturing it from above brings out details you’d never spot from the road. The symmetry of the house, the tucked-away gardens, the quiet corners between buildings, and that impressive wall of trees all combine into something far more striking when seen at height. With the surrounding farmland stretching away on all sides, Minsteracres looks completely set apart — a calm pocket of history sitting in open countryside.
